The House of Representatives sailed through HR 1388 (G.I.V.E  Act) this Wednesday  (3/18/2009) – without conscience or attention to consequence – in keeping with their voting record so far this year. A version of this measure is now in the hands of the Senate. If passed into law, it will put into place  Obama/Axelrod’s largest linchpin in their plan to take over our country and our society by taking over our youth (and even attempt to lure in our needy senior citizens) by “paying” them to co-operate.

The “Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act” is Now before the Senate

Passed by the House of Representatives in a 321 to 105 vote yesterday, this G.I.V.E. Act should come as no surprise – within our current economic crisis and near bankrupt status being used – once again – by the Obama administration  as an excuse for the civilian-military force he spoke of during his campaign. At a start-up cost of $6 Billion dollars, what makes this quantum leap of youth re-education so critically urgent right now? The answer lies in the pages of Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals, which states:“The first step in community organization is community disorganization. “The disruption of the present organization is the first step toward community organization. Present arrangements must be disorganized if they are to be displace by new patterns…. All change means disorganization of the old and organization of the new.”

This video clip of Obama’s campaign pledge with a video reminds US of this misrepresented law’s potential impact. This sudden move by the new “Change” Administration for a rapid-fire, cloaked revision of our nation’s standards of  “Voluntary Service” has been swept under the rug of MainStream Media. Misc. section, #6104: (6) “ Whether a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people could be developed, and how such a requirement could be implemented in a manner that would strengthen the social fabric of the Nation and overcome civic challenges by bringing together people from diverse economic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds” (by) “(C) involv(ing) an increasing percentage of students in secondary school and out-of-school youth in the community in school-based or community based service-learning activities each year, with the goal of involving all students in secondary schools served by the local educational agency and involving an increasing percentage of the out-of-school youth in service learning activities. It goes on to state: “Each program funded under this part shall be carried out over a period of three years, including one planning year and two additional grant years, with a 1-year extension possible, if the program meets performance measures developed in accordance with section 179(a) and any other criteria determined by the Corporation (AmericaCorps) . . with “Requirements” as follows: `It is the sense of Congress that the number of participants in the programs . . .  should grow to reach 250,000 participants by 2014” in service programs that combine the best practices of civilian service with the best aspects of military service, including leadership and team building, to meet national and community needs” It further states that the Director determines appropriate “Uniforms” with references to “camps” revised to “campuses.” There are also references to programs at even the elementary school level in SEC. 1201, though the specific contents and supervision of these programs remain unspoken.

COVERING UP THIS GIVE ACT IS THE REASON for all the intentionally-timed commotion on AIG. What they stand to gain on this National Service Laws rewrite is far greater than anything they lose on temporary criticism for their AIG conduct!

Secy. of Defense Robert Gates Downplays Possible U.S. Role as Fears of Mexico Collapse Mount; Don’t Be Fooled, There’s A Bush-Era Agenda Still Going On Here…

A couple of days ago I posted a press release from W.A.M. (Wake Up America) on the impending demise of the “E-Verify Program” which has been operating since the 1990’s. (See URGENT PRESS RELEASE March 4, 2009 from W.A.M. RE: Expiration of the “E-Verify Program” Which Screens Employment of Illegal Aliens.)

You have to wonder why this is being allowed to die, especially with the news coming out of Mexico.  Living only about 50 miles from the border (the El Paso-Ciudad Juarez area), I got to thinking.

On Monday (3/2) I saw a small AP article in the Albuquerque Journal hidden near the fold on page two which reported on Secretary of Defense Robert Gates’ appearance on Meet the Press the day before.  Since I don’t trust the AP to report anything anymore, I found the transcript of the show; here is the relevant passage:

March 1, 2009

Meet the Press

MR. GREGORY:  We’ve got a few more minutes, and I want to go through as quickly as we can some other really important topics.  The first is Mexico, a major threat on the border with Mexico because of a widening drug war there. The Economist magazine wrote this startling synopsis, and they call it “Who’s in charge?  The police chief in Ciudad Juarez, on Mexico’s border with America, resigned after drug gangs, who had murdered his deputy, threatened to kill one of his officers every 48 hours until he quit.” What’s going on there, and how big of a national security threat is this for the U.S.?

SEC’Y GATES:  Well, I think that what is important is that President Calderon of Mexico, perhaps for the first time, has, has taken on the battle against these cartels.  And because of corruption in the police and so on, he sent the federal army of Mexico into the fight.  The cartels are retaliating.  I think we are beginning to be in a position to help the Mexicans more than we have in the past.  Some of the old biases against cooperation with our–between our militaries and so on I think are being set aside.

MR. GREGORY:  You mean providing military supporting?

SEC’Y GATES:  Providing them with, with training, with, with resources, with reconnaissance and surveillance kinds of capabilities; but just cooperation, including in intelligence. But it clearly is a serious problem, and, and–but what I think people need to point out is the courage that Calderon has shown in taking this on, because one of the reasons it’s gotten as bad as it has is because his predecessors basically refused to do that.

This policy does not come out of the blue. The  plan was signed into law on June 30, 2008.

The Mérida Initiative (also called Plan Mexico by critics) is a security cooperation between the United States and the government of Mexico and the countries of Central America, with the aim of combating the threats of drug trafficking, transnational crime and money laundering. The assistance includes training, equipment and intelligence.

In seeking partnership from the United States, Mexican officials point out that the illicit drug trade is a shared problem in need of a shared solution, and remark that most of the financing for the Mexican traffickers comes from American drug consumers. U.S. law enforcement officials estimate that US$12 to 15 billion per year flows from the United States to the Mexican traffickers, and that is just in cash, and doesn’t include all the money sent by wire transfers.^[1] Other government agencies, including the Government Accountability Office and the National Drug Intelligence Center, have estimated that Mexico’s cartels earn upwards of $23 billion in illicit drug proceeds from the United States.^[2][3]

U.S. State Department officials are aware that Mexican President Felipe Calderón’s willingness to work with the United States is unprecedented on issues of security, crime and drugs, so the U.S. Congress passed legislation in late June 2008 to provide Mexico with $400 million and Central American countries with $65 million this year for the Mérida Initiative. The initiative was announced on 22 October 2007 and signed into law on June 30, 2008.

Now, this plan raises a couple of alarm bells. First, some are speculating that we should expect some sort of terrorist attack on the U.S. that will allow the Obama Administration to do something that will complete their power grab.  George Bush took 911 and we got a spate of new laws regarding security, FISA, and a whole new Homeland Security office.  It doesn’t take much to see the conditions in Mexico as a potential source of  a “transnational crime” of some sort.  What Obama would do with this sort of situation has been widely discussed.  Reports of  “camps” being built, the continuation of FISA, the economic problems and greater government intervention…well, would you be surprised if we saw some more power grabbed by Obama?

Secondly, what could the “cooperation” that Gates describes actually lead to?  The use of the word “just”, as in “just cooperation” automatically raises suspicion, as if it’s all being minimized to sound simple and benign. Foreign Policy In Focus analyzed the plan this way:

From what’s known of it, the package — officially dubbed the “Mérida Initiative” but more commonly referred to as “Plan Mexico” — contains direct donations of military and intelligence equipment, and training programs for Mexican law enforcement officials. A White House fact sheet lists surveillance equipment, helicopters and aircraft, scanners for border revisions, communications systems, and training programs for “strengthening the institutions of justice.” An additional $50 million dollars is earmarked for Central American countries to support their fight against “gangs, drugs, and arms.”

The Washington Post, which obtained a copy of the “Overall Justification Document,” reported that more than a third of the package will be spent on aerial surveillance and facilitating the rapid deployment of troops.

But what has legislators and civil society worried on both sides of the border is not the money involved or the equipment to be sent. It’s the reach of Plan Mexico in recasting the binational relationship, to create what the Bush administration calls “a new paradigm for security cooperation.”

The concept of a joint security strategy for North America goes back at least as far as the creation of the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) in March of 2005. Since that time, the Bush administration has attempted to push its Northern American trade partners into a common front that would assume shared responsibility for protecting the United States from terrorist threats and bolstering U.S. global hegemony in the region.

Plan Mexico twists the plot by presenting Bush administration efforts to create a North American security strategy in the guise of a war on drugs.

And Gates is still there as a carryover in Obama’s cabinet.

On Monday( 3/9) this site will be featuring a post on a planned “community,” with many of the target dates for reaching certain goals set for 2010.  The demise of E-Verify may be part of a larger scenario that’s being played out.  Remember “SPP”–you’ll be reading about it in more detail on Monday.

Lawmakers to evaluate Merida Initiative’s success

EL PASO — As drug violence claims lives every day across the border in Juárez, lingering questions about the Merida Initiative may come to dog lawmakers, who could find themselves under pressure if the cooperative agreement to fight drugs is not a success.Security experts have urged Congress to consider a range of indicators when evaluating the progress of the Merida Initiative.

Whether the initiative will work and whether benchmarks have been set to measure success of failure remain key questions for lawmakers and local officials, some of whom are skeptical about the three-year, $1.4 billion plan.

Meanwhile, fears abound that money, materials and services from the Merida Initiative won’t make it to their intended recipients, with corruption getting in the way and the potential for worsening violence as drug cartels continue to clash.

Gee, no “indicators”?  Doubts about whether “benchmarks” have been established? Sounds sort of  like how the “stimulus package” and bailout money is set up…no real oversight!

The E-Verify Program, on which businesses across the country relies to screen employment of illegal aliens expires this Friday, March 6. E-Verify has been in use since 1997 by businesses nationwide – but Congress appears to be ‘hoping’ Americans won’t notice that they removed the extension of this regulation from the “Stimulus Plan” and the issue has been ignored and screened out of Mass Media news coverage. Though the House voted to extend this measure for 4 years last last November, the Senate dropped that extension down to just 4 months. Clearly this demonstrated advance planning. Then the Conference Committee completely removed E-Verify from the Stimulus Plan – while spending a fortune on frivolity!

E-VERIFY, highly recommended, online, by “Smart Business Practice” is supervised  by the Department of Homeland Security and the Social Security Administration. It  has been in existence since 1997, used by tens of thousands of employers across the country with millions of inquiries each year.

Ironically the Department of Homeland Security website still is posting E-VERIFY as MANDATORY for Federal contractors and subcontractors as of May 12 2009.  New Director, Janet Napolitano, has not even bothered to update her Department’s website to the fact that E-VERIFY HAS JUST BEEN QUIETLY KILLED! The only known criticism of E-VERIFY (by Socialist-leaning groups,  of course) is that the system is  not perfect because sometimes the Data Base makes an error, so that is unfair.

How many times have we heard on TV that the new “Stimulus Plan” may not be “perfect” but we need to do something?! YET THE SAME RULERS IN WASHINGTON WANT TO DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT HIRING ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS TAKING JOBS AWAY FROM AMERICAN WORKERS! Think of how the end of E-VERIFY will promote more illegals to flood our country to get jobs!

T.A.R.P, Recovery Plan, Term Limits Action…All Obscured Under the Cover of Media Hoopla

What’s been going on under cover of the media’s endless coverage of an airline incident in NY and the Inauguration hoopla?

While the plane floated in the Hudson River,  the Senate passed the remaining $350 billion in T.A.R.P. expenditures.  Since it would have been necessary for both House and Senate to vote down this measure, the funding is now assured and already in process.

Just to be certain their tight vote passed,  Roland Burris was sworn in early that day and Joe Biden withheld his own resignation from the Senate until day’s end, after the vote. You won’t see reports of such maneuvers in the MSM, but we’ve have to expect them to continue as this Administration gets into gear.

Speaker Pelosi, for instance, appears to be planning a re-interpretation of House Rules to serve the purpose of “dead of night” measures to circumvent opposition. Rumors indicates she hopes to start taxing Americans’ retirement funds, while evidence is clear she remains a strong backer of ACORN, according to the Center for Individual Freedom. Founded in 1998, this organization tends to focus on Republican and libertarian values and is part of the Townhall.com consortium.  These days, however, we find ourselves having to at least look at information sources other than the MSM, even if they are in the “other” camp.

On the very first day of Congress, Pelosi pushed through a change to a House rule known as the “motion to recommit,” a rule that was implemented a CENTURY AGO specifically to PROHIBIT the leadership of the majority party from railroading horrendous legislation through Congress under the cover of darkness.

Nancy Pelosi changed her tune on a great many things once she assumed the position of Speaker of the House.

Two years ago, she said; “Bills should generally come to the floor under a procedure that allows open, full and fair debate consisting of a full amendment process that grants the minority the right to offer its alternatives, including a substitute.”

Even the liberal Washington Post could not help but comment on Pelosi’s blatant hypocrisy and her apparent rush to change the rules when it comes to transparency and openness:

“When they took over in 2007, Democrats set aside their pledge in order to muscle through their agenda during the first 100 hours; their promises continued to prove hollow in the ensuing months…. Democrats brought more measures to the House floor under closed rules – permitting no amendments – than any of the six previous Republican-controlled congresses.”

The question that remains related to T.A.R.P. is what will the House of Representatives do to regulate its distribution and oversight. Barney Frank, Democratic Chair of the Banking Committee has presented a bill which claims to serve that purpose. This bill is subject to a vote as early as this week, following the Inauguration.

Of even greater concern, however,are the currently nebulous contents of the “Obama Recovery Plan.” Expected to multiply the initial costs of T.A.R.P., this package of ten bills is currently a mere shell for the insertion of who knows just what. Apparently, all the Obama rhetoric has yet to be magically transformed into substance. By contrast, another bill also introduced on January 7, to discourage teen pregnancy is four pages long – offering an amount of detail greater than the 10 sketchy Recovery bills combined! Yet the headers of this package portend sweeping changes in almost every aspect of American life. One, for instance, with a header related to “Fairness” for the middle class (?) includes, on its short list of potential laws, a brief reference to CardCheck (Pelosi and ACORN’s approach to storming small businesses with mandated unions, initiated with the peer pressure of no secret ballot.) There’s every indication the Democratic power-party is preparing for diverse back room deals and dead of night maneuvers to turn our country’s standards and laws upside down as quickly as possible – all with the blessings of a co-operative Mass Media which is committed to informing citizens about as little as possible of what is going on.

The history of its prior introduction (1995 to 2007) has been weak. To grasp the orientation of Rep. This time around, the threat of ending term limits has meat on its bones – cosponsored, as it is, by Barney Frank. What, may we ask, is the head of the Banking Committee thinking to sponsor a bill extending Obama’s term in office – with no limits?! (Please note; Rep. Frank’s co-sponsorship is dated November 2008 but buried in the record of an earlier record of the measure. Just an error?)

W.A.M. Asks — Who Needs Christmas When You Can Worship “THE ONE”?

As we all know, the Obama Transition Team is hard at it, paving the way for the Ascension of “The One.”  It may be slightly steeper climb since the advent of Blago-gate, but the machine churns on.

Recently, we wrote about the House Parties being pushed by Team Obama and how the issue of healthcare was one of  the issues that would be at the top of the agenda during a night of House Parties on 12/15.  (See “Healthcare Reform” PR Blitz, Screw Job on the Way–And YOU Can Join In!” from 12/8).

Other bloggers have written in detail about the recent “viral net campaign” video that was issued by Obama’s campaign manager, David Pflouffe, for the “Change is Coming” House Parties which are scheduled for tonight (12/15).  But there have been other coordinated actions that all point to the way Obama plans to do business–basically, using his huge database of names to “rally the troops” on issues.   For example, in addition to the Plouffe email/video, we’ve seen a steady stream of  “synchronized” campaign messages which have been targeted to those on the email lists of the DNC, the Democratic Party and Hillary Clinton.  I’m not on any of these lists anymore, but as a one-time donor to the Clinton Foundation years ago, I recently received a letter by mail from the Clinton Foundation which is “reaching out” to me “to share our plans for publishing the names of the Foundation’s donors.”  Interestingly, the letter asks for my support and if I have any questions, I should contact the Foundation’s office by phone by…today, 12/15.

Here are some of the other “campaign messages” that have gone out:

*A request from Joe Biden for donations to help pay off Hillary Clinton’s campaign debts. (Why now, more than a month after the
election?  Asking for $100.)

*Another, sent by a female singer, targeted exclusively to former Hillary supporters, urging participation in a new network.

*The DNC offering hats and 4-year Obama calendars for donations of $25 or $35 (order by the magic date of 12/15  for Christmas delivery!).

*A message from Donna Brazile on behalf of her “pals” at the DCCC, begging for “$20, $35, or more ” so that the donor can “be automatically entered into their Witness History Contest for a chance to win flight and hotel accommodations to be in Washington D.C. for this once-in-a-lifetime event” (includes a pass to a pre-Inauguration luncheon).

*An invitation to a “Hillary Live!” event in NYC on 12/15 to help retire her debt, attended by “Senator Hillary Clinton and President Bill Clinton, hosted by America Ferrara.”

* A message from “actor and activist”  Melissa Fitzgerald who states that “As an actor, co-founder of the organization Voices in Harmony and long-time supporter of all the great work Hillary Clinton has done over the years, I am proud to introduce you to an organization that has given me a platform to promote my ideas and helped me empower change. The American Democracy Institute (ADI) was founded in 2005 with the help of Hillary Clinton, who served as the chair of ADI’s youth initiative that engaged over 10,000 young activists around the country… Please take a look at the American Democracy Institute and all the great ways that you can empower change.”

Quite a barrage of activity, and all just before the holidays, many culminating on December 15!!  By the way, NONE of these solicitations offers any greetings for the season–these are all about business.

To many of us, it sure seems that Obama is organizing for the Inauguration and beyond and that the REAL Obama campaign has just begun! The object is to create the aura of a phony “mandate for change” that he’ll exploit after he’s sworn in.

You may have noticed the W.A.M logo in the right sidebar.  As a participant in the “Wake Up Amerca”  (W.A.M.) movement, this blogger agrees with most of W.A.M’s  ideas about why all this “campaigning” (“propaganda wave”)  is still going on, particularly at a time of year when most voters normally would expect a break from politicking.

If you stop and think for a minute and look beneath the surface to see what’s really going on, you might agree with some of  W.A.M.’s conclusions, too:

The Obama camp is currently mobilizing every available still  delusional follower, to propagate the illusion of a general public
mandate FOR WHAT?:

**To build sympathy amidst Clinton supporters, to seduce more  women supporters, re-activate netroots Obamatrons, expand    contact  lists via house parties on the same night – in order to  further extend their tentacles into local communities WHILE staging
an ‘historic’ inaugural event turn-out (multiplied and  magnified by the their bought off MSM collaborators) is probably for the following purposes:

** to build a ‘bandwagon’ illusion of public support for a forthcoming sweep of radical Executive Orders to be put in place
right after the inauguration PLUS

** to mislead and divert the public eye, providing Pelosi & Co.a  head start on radical legislation – as soon as the new Congress enters session. No doubt bills – initiated by the new” un-Dem” Congress will be filled with hidden pork and carry the added dangers of secretly negotiated- buried in fine print riders!

ALSO NOTICE – in their arrogance- all these email mass solicitations beg for $$$ – at a time when obama claims a ‘campaign surplus’ and spends our $ extravagantly for his ‘coronation’; and prepares to run federal reserve presses non-stop to bail out his favored interests and backers. Now, compounding all that, we should all now crimp our own Christmas shopping to send them EVEN MORE OF OUR MONEY?! (As for soliciting small donors to repay Hillary’s debt – her own online advocates tapped themselves dry
this summer-at the same time the obama camp ‘forgot’ to fulfill their promise to help take care of that matter. Now we should do that again while he flashes his misuse of taxpayers’ $ on his “historic’ Inauguration – just so MSM can put on a splashy TV show to persuade the whole planet that EVERYONE else worships him?

So now that we know what they are up to, why they are doing it and how they are going  about it, the question is: Will we be asleep – and taken by surprise – when all the big plans start happening in 2009?

As W.A.M. points out,  George Washington shrewdly attacked the British over the Christmas holidays – while they were sleeping. We know how that turned out –  he won!

What can we do? Well, besides staying awake, we have to work, as W.A.M. says,  to ” help spread Truth in Information and be prepared to take action to  preserve our democracy in the face of this corrupt, self serving new administration.”

This site has joined the growing number of sites from across the political spectrum to help start what will hopefully become a large network of blogs to help counter the spin and misinformation that is showering down on us.  Obama drew in about 400 bloggers to support his campaign…now, IT’S OUR TURN!  By creating such a network that spread the messages and action alerts that will be coming from W.A.M. in the future, we may have a shot of doing what the big boys in D.C., the Obama blogosphere and the media do…put out our own, unified and SYNCHRONIZED messages that gets repeated continuously to Americans, just like the media giants do (for example, the latest is the “Blagojevich is crazy, nothing there to see re: Obama).
