Snap quiz!   Who else out there is ready to find a hole to hide in?  Preferably a rabbit hole…I mean, what does it take for the country to wake up as to the fact the ACORN voting fraud and mortgage debacle can be laid at the Democrats’ and Obama’s feet?  Of course, we know that kicking around Sarah Palin is far more important than anything unsavory that Obama has been involved in…

In Grail Guardian’s October 6 post, IS THE TIDE TURNING? 10 THINGS YOU CAN DO TO HELP, Grail mentions Cloward-Piven in suggestion #8.  If you click on the link, you’ll come to an explanation of Cloward-Piven at DiscovertheNetworks.org, A Guide to the Political Left.  CP is described as a “strategy for forcing political change through orchestrated crisis.:”

In their 1966 article, Cloward and Piven charged that the ruling classes used welfare to weaken the poor; that by providing a social safety net, the rich doused the fires of rebellion. Poor people can advance only when “the rest of society is afraid of them,” Cloward told The New York Times on September 27, 1970. Rather than placating the poor with government hand-outs, wrote Cloward and Piven, activists should work to sabotage and destroy the welfare system; the collapse of the welfare state would ignite a political and financial crisis that would rock the nation; poor people would rise in revolt; only then would “the rest of society” accept their demands.

(SNIP)

Their article called for “cadres of aggressive organizers” to use “demonstrations to create a climate of militancy.” Intimidated by threats of black violence, politicians would appeal to the federal government for help. Carefully orchestrated media campaigns, carried out by friendly, leftwing journalists, would float the idea of “a federal program of income redistribution,” in the form of a guaranteed living income for all — working and non-working people alike. Local officials would clutch at this idea like drowning men to a lifeline. They would apply pressure on Washington to implement it. With every major city erupting into chaos, Washington would have to act. This was an example of what are commonly called Trojan Horse movements — mass movements whose outward purpose seems to be providing material help to the downtrodden, but whose real objective is to draft poor people into service as revolutionary foot soldiers; to mobilize poor people en masse to overwhelm government agencies with a flood of demands beyond the capacity of those agencies to meet. The flood of demands was calculated to break the budget, jam the bureaucratic gears into gridlock, and bring the system crashing down. Fear, turmoil, violence and economic collapse would accompany such a breakdown — providing perfect conditions for fostering radical change. That was the theory.

James Simpson’s article “Barack Obama and the Strategy of Manufactured Crisis” in American Thinker moves from theory to the current political situation. Although written from a conservative point of view, the timeline provided and details of Barack Obama’s involvement and connections is an invaluable overview of how we’ve gotten to where we are today…And check out the chart which shows it all, plain as day.  Too bad nobody in the mainstream media seems interested…Another chart here of Obama connections focusing on the mortgage mess by the Princess Wears Prada which appears at Just Say No Deal…

McCain’s internet-only ACORN ad (?)…Should be on the TEE VEE…has it gotten there yet? Any sightings? If it isn’t on the TEE VEE, it should be…unless it won’t be allowed by the MSM!

I noticed a comment in a thead at Texas Darlin’ this week that really stuck in my mind. So here it is:

A comment by Marie at Texas Darlin…

I noticed on the Google anniversary search that there are lots of references to Barack J. Obama. Was this yet another name for him? What did the “J” stand for? Did he run for office using that middle initial?

Some references said it was when he was avoiding use of the name “Hussein” so as not to be confused with being Muslim.

I am amazed at how loosey goosey he is with his names. When one becomes inconvenient for any reason–he just changes it.

Marie, you’re not the only one who is amazed…

As the slaughtering of Sarah Palin continues, Pagan Power has written a great post detailing the “troopergate” case.”  So, Palin is guilty of “abuse of power.”  I heard a passing “report” that the panel/judge didn’t buy the claim that the Palin family had valid fears.  Pretty outrageous, even for this political season.   Check out “WITCH-HUNT: The Sarah Palin Chronicles.”

Coincidentally, I happened to catch a few moments of Book TV, with Bob Scheiffer of CBS being interviewed. It was taped before “Palin got out there.”  Scheiffer was spouting about how this was all “serious business” and the implication was that Palin wasn’t worthy of being VP.  The woman doing the interview went right along with it, forgetting Dan Quayle, Spiro Agnew and all the other men in the office who weren’t exactly winners.  I find this whole business tiring and disheartening, don’t you?

I watched a bit of show on the History Channel about “The Last Days on Earth” according to prophecy, cultists like Jim Jones, David Koresh and the Davidians, Marshall Applewhite’s Heaven’s Gate…and science.  One scientist commented that every morning we wake up, we face a 1 in 20,000 chance of something half-mile or larger hitting the earth.  Of all the things examined, I have to say that it’s the cultists that get to me the most…and that includes the Obama zombies.

Time to get to more pleasant thoughts…things that provide an escape from the incessant propaganda.

Yesterday I picked about 20 prickly pear fruits from a big cactus in the front yard, took off the little spines by passing them each over an open flame on the stove, then simmered them, mashed them, and strained out all the juice.  The juice looks like beet juice. The actual fruit is pretty sweet. SInce this is the first time I’ve ever handled the fruit, I was really surprised at how much juice came out of them. So, tomorrow, I’m going to make prickly pear jelly.  I haven’t done any canning or jelly-making in a long time, so I’ll have to see if I can remember how I set up the process years ago.

I’ll report on what happens in next week’s roundup…
