Of Robots and Women and Our Current Life in the Village of Stepford (Antidote on the Way?)(A Double Post by kenosha Marge and InsightAnalytical-GRL)

Women, You’re About To Be Replaced By…a ROBOT!

~~By InsightAnalytical-GRL

A few days ago I happened to spot something as I roamed around the web that really made my skin crawl!  In the current climate of subtle and not-so-subtle sexism and misogyny coming at as from every direction, this had to be “the crowning touch.” When I saw this, my mind rewound to a post written by kenosha Marge that first appeared at Partizane back on November 12. (For those of you who missed it there, KM’s opus follows  immediately after this eye-opener.)

Let’s see… the item I found was written, it seems, by exactly the sort of woman KM describes in her piece.  With complete seriousness and “professionalism” and not a hint of wondering about what the hell it’s all about, she does a thorough and admiring article on a certain invention.  Maybe she wants to keep HER job, but she can’t muster up a single reference point to what women have been put up with for eons???  Did she ever see original version of  The Stepford Wives (1975), a movie I can’t bear to watch anymore??? (Ironically, the 2004 remake was supposed to be “more comedic” according to the linked article…maybe another indicator of how we’ve been more delusional about our “progress” than we should have been!)

Well, I guess it’s on with the show from The Sun (UK), home of the half-naked “Page 3” women:

Inventor builds She-3PO robot

SHE is the perfect wife, with the body of a Page 3 pin-up and housekeeping skills that put TV’s Kim and Aggie to shame.

Her name is Aiko, she can even read a map, and will never, ever, nag.

Sounds too good to be true, doesn’t she fellas? And she is.

Aiko is actually a robot, a fantasy brought to life by inventor Le Trung.

Devoted Aiko — “in her 20s” — has a stunning 32-23-33 figure, pretty face and shiny hair.

She is always happy to clean the house for “husband” Le, help with his accounts or get him a drink.

Computer ace Le, 33, from Ontario, Canada, has spent two years and £14,000 building his dream girl.

He had planned to make an android to care for the elderly.

But his project — inspired by sci-fi robots like Star Wars’s C3PO — strayed off-course.

Le said: “Aiko is what happens when science meets beauty.”

Robo-wife Aiko starts the day by reading Le the main newspaper headlines.

The couple often go for a drive in the countryside, where Aiko proves a whizz at directions.

And they always sit down for dinner together in the evening, although Aiko doesn’t have much of an appetite.

Le says his relationship with Aiko hasn’t strayed into the bedroom, but a few “tweaks” could turn her into a sexual partner.

Le said: “Her software could be redesigned to simulate her having an orgasm.”

Aiko can already react to being tickled or touched. She also recognises faces and speaks 13,000 sentences.

Now Le is seeking a sponsor to help him overcome the robot-maker’s biggest challenge — making Aiko walk like a human.

Once Aiko has been perfected, Le hopes to sell clones for use as home-helps.

He said: “Aiko doesn’t need holidays, food or rest, and will work almost 24 hours a day. She is the perfect woman.”

Aiko sparks mixed reactions in public.

Le said: “Women usually try to talk to her. But men always want to touch her, and if they do it the wrong way she slaps them.”

Well, at least she slaps them if they “touch her the wrong way”!! What a “perfect woman”!

Here’s a “full frontal” cheesecake photo of this latest wonder (and there’s a video up at the The Sun, too):

I don’t know what’s sicker–the fact that this guy has built the perfect stereotype which women can’t seem to shake OR the fact that the female reporter seems to accept “nagging” as a feminine attribute and humors the fellas as she mentions that the robot woman is  “too good to be true.” Oh, but Aiko does get credit for being able to read a map, although we’re not quite how she’ll do in bed…

One more thought–can you imagine if this thing is mass-marketed?? What will THAT do to the status of women?  Hey, NOW and all you other “feminist leaders” who decided to get suckered by Obama…what’s your move when this hits town???

If you are feeling as disgusted as I am, you can email the “reporter”  or whatever she is at c.iggulden@the-sun.co.uk.

Women Will Never Be Equal

~~By kenosha Marge

I watched as 56% of the female voters in the country voted for a misogynist. I watched outraged. I watched in sadness. I watched in shame. And I knew, I finally, completely, totally knew that women would never be equal. They won’t let themselves be. They don’t want to be. They are afraid to be. They will always choose a second-rate man over a first-rate woman.

We will never be equal not because of the men that hate us, demean us and insist that we remain second-class citizens. Those pathetic little fellas need someone to look down on but there are not enough of them. There are too many good, decent secure men around who don’t need to keep a woman down to make themselves feel all manly.

The pathetic little men need to have someone to whom they can feel superior and then push around; pound on, talk smut about and then take to bed. The sex part is a bonus they get with no other subjected critter. Except for those that do it to sheep and even the sheep have the self-respect to bleat about it.

But the pathetic little men need help. And they get it from women, from women that do not support other women. For whatever sick, sad little reason, women do not support women. And so women will never be equals.

When media launches one of its sexist attacks on some woman, any woman, other women quickly pile on. When night after night on the rabidly sexist Countdown on MSNBC, the rabidly sexist cretin Keith Olbermann demeaned the pathetic public meltdown of Britney Spears, where were the female voices telling him to stop? I don’t even like her and yet I was appalled and after a few programs I stopped watching him and never went back. Seeing someone bash Bush wasn’t worth watching a man publicly attacking a woman without outcry, with no outrage. Those programs should have told everyone all they needed to know about Keith Olbermann. Instead his ratings climbed. Sexism sells. It also tells me everything I need to know about people that still watch him.

When Hillary Clinton was smeared and subjected to outrageous sexism in the media, and particularly on MSNBC, where was the outrage? When her run was done and Sarah Palin was smeared and subjected to outrageous sexism, where was the outrage? And where were the women protesting such treatment?

How about Rachel Maddow, the newest member of MSNBC’s Obama team? Sticking up for the females? You gotta be kidding. She’s just one of the boyz now and thus must prove her chops by beating up on women worse than they do.

All the old hags of the Women’s Movement piled on the Palin. How dare a “conservative” woman think she had the right to run for VP when a liberal woman hadn’t been chosen? Bet ya didn’t know that only “liberal” women are worthy of support. However Hillary Clinton just wasn’t the right woman. Yeah, right.

Now we gleeful girls, or at least 56% of us are dancing around the Maypole in joy that an African-American, well actually a Kenyan-American man, is the president elect. That’s historic, don’t ya know!

Black men were given the right to vote 50 years before women. The Fifteenth Amendment to the Constitution was ratified on February 3, 1870. It prohibits preventing a citizen from voting based on the citizen’s race, color or previous condition of servitude. Thus black men were given the right to vote. But women, of any color were not.

15th Amendment

Fifty years later, the 19th Amendment to the constitution was ratified on August 18, 1920. And women were finally allowed to vote.

19th Amendment

Guess us girls will just have to hang on another 50 years or so to get our turn at the Presidency. Hell, even at the Vice-Presidency. Cause it’s all about the boys, don’t ya know. At least 56% of the women in this country seem to think so.

So long as 56% of the women in this country stand in a man’s corner when a woman is fighting, a woman will never, and can never win. It’s a hell of a price to pay for a pat on the head or a pat on the ass.

Women will never be equal. 56% of them won’t allow that to happen. And so the rest of us must suffer for their puny and pathetic little hang-ups. If I didn’t loathe them so much I would almost feel sorry for them.

Editor’s Note: Heidi Li has formed a new organization; see Introducing 51 Percent – an organizational antidote to hatred of women.

This will be a non-profit educational organization designed to teach people what misogyny is, why it is different from sexism, how it relates to hateful conduct. On the affirmative side 51 Percent will promote the aspiration of having women occupy 51 percent of all areas in civil society (not just politics, but the workplace (and not just high level or white collar jobs but all jobs), the arts, every media institution, etc.) I believe that 51 percent representation – proportional to the presence of women in the general population – is  the most expedient antidote to the prevalence of misogynist conduct and its current social acceptability.

Please check out what she is doing…

  1. I like the sound of 51% — it is a lot more positive than aiming for 30%.

Sexism is learned — as is misogyny. Some women argue that sexism is “natural” — it is in our genes. BS.

This “ideal” female robot reminds me of the Dune — sci fi novels. Hebert took this idea to a logical conclusion — cultural evolution over thousands of years. One culture took the revulsion of females to the ultimate extreme — women are necessary — but if turned into reproduction “tanks” — using only the female bits necessary for the continuation of the male only culture — interaction with females can be avoided.

During the Dark Ages — millions of women were called witches and then tortured and executed. WOW — what a long lasting message the witchcraze has been. Mothers teaching daughters to behave and don’t do anything to piss of the men folk.

The Dark Ages for women are still going strong in many countries around the world — Islamic countries and other fundamentalist religions (all seem to degrade women as part of their worship the penis mind set.)

I used to discount the folks who’d send email about Obama and his early exposure to the Islamic culture in Indonesia. However, as I watched Obama show how much he disrespected (and even hated) women I began to wonder about the cultural sensitive periods in young children’s lives. Somewhere Obama learned that women are inferior to males — and that women do not deserve equal respect. I grew up in Hawaii — and THAT is not the cultural attitude in Hawaii.

Obama is just the sort of person who would want to invest in that female robot development.

  2. The robot really ought to scare all the man-crazy little botards more than real women. Real women have no use for the males that would be attracted to the artificial sycophant with breasts. It’s only the insecure, approval-seeking, wear tight clothes with slutty slogans, swoon over a vibrating cell phone types that are interested in that kind of male (no, they are not men; just boys in grown bodies). Ironically, they are the ones that will think it’s “cute” or “cool”.

Real women and real men know that it’s what in the mind and spirit that make a person worth spending time with. Obviously Mr. Le enjoys spending time alone (what some might call a sociopath) to the exclusion of others (the robot has his “personality”, such that it is). Most normal humans crave interactions with other sentient beings, and would go insane spending time with no one but an android.

I wonder how Mr. Lee could do creating a robotic president and congress? Now that might be a worthwhile endeavor…

  3. And sure enough, just as I had predicted on Nov 4th, “Obama named Time’s Person of the YEAR“.

    here is the link:

Amazingly, there are no women to have measured up to the tests of Time.
    none, zero, zilch and nada

  4. You say “All the old hags of the Women’s Movement piled on the Palin.”

I share your pain about the misogyny of the 2008 political campaign and the sorry state of women bashing women – more than you can know.

I’m a veteran of the second wave feminist wars. I left the organized women’s movement when ultra liberal leaders decided that their exclusive liberal ideologies were the only acceptable forms of feminism.

I’m one of those “old hags” and trust me, there are a lot of us as outraged (if not more outraged because of our history) about the shameful bashing of Palin and sick embracing of a misogynist by most feminist leaders.

I’m sure your words were not meant to include “all” older feminists in the “bashing hag” category but there it is. I, frankly, know few older feminists who are not fuming about Steinem, Morgan, Gandy, Jong and the others who have inexplicably lost their feminist souls.

  5. from Northwest rain:“…Obama is just the sort of person who would want to invest in that female robot development.”

Maybe, but Me-chelle will be the first to blow out her/its circuit board.

    • Leslie, I lost your comment about Man of the Year…
It got into spam and I THOUGHT I approved it….this new WordPress thing is confusing me…I lost another comment a couple of days ago because of it…

  6. Grail,
Thank you for the link. I am saddened and appalled at what has happened to this family. This creep had no right to be loose so that he could attack this family for the second time.

I left a comment that I would gladly sign on to “Louisa’s Law, as I’m sure any right thinking woman and man would do. Now, more than ever, we need more laws to protect women following the misogyny of this past election cycle.

The hanging of the effigy of Sarah Palin, and the
acceptance of that act by the community told the creeps that abuse of women is acceptable.

Also Obama’s acceptance of this sort of disrespect by his top speech writer is an indication of the way he feels about this sort of thing.

  7. IA,

This sick little man, Mr. Le, is an example of the small minds that treat women like objects and not humans.
IMO he should be hung by his (feet?) in the most public place in town and pummelled with cow pats.

You are so right. The greater number of people who turned against me for campaigning for Hillary Clinton were women, and they are, for the most part, the ones who are continuing to bash me for it. When I had my name removed from the rolls of the local Democratic club and changed my registration to Independent, the fur really started to fly. People I had gone to meetings with for 25 yrs. turned on me just because I could not support Obama. You figure it, I can’t.

  8. Grail…I can’t believe what happened to Betty Jean’s daughter’s!!

I know Hackensack Medical Center well. My cousin’s husband has priveleges there…I wonder what he must think about security there.

As for the legal system….IT’S GONE! A playpen for politicians and a lot of loony judges on both sides of the political spectrum.

I don’t want to get started on this…my blood pressure is high enough already~~~

  9. De;lurking …..
What would happen if women decided to buy an island, relocate en masse, and use all of their undeniable talents to further their own world i.e. their island.
It seems like a grand idea to me – one could import, for a day or so, a male to take care of one’s urges. If one wanted to enter into a permanent relationship, then one’s partner would have to be vetted by the central committee. If approved, he could live on the island, if not then removal with a permanent stamp to ensure he never comes back.
Women would be in charge of everything. but the leaders would be subject to a democratic vote. Rules for leadership would include term limits, funding limits, and any deviation would result in stripping the interested party of any and all positions, influence, involvement.

Yeah, I know, I’ve been smoking funny stuff (even tho i’m allergic) Anyway, back to lurking.

  10. LindaA1,

I am sorry if my using the term “old Hags” upset you. I am one of the older feminists myself and certainly did not agree with what was done. Perhaps my anger was poorly worded. Should I have better said “the prominent feminists of the past several decades”? Quite honestly I was too angry to be that careful of my words.

I also thought that most would be of the mindset that if the shoe didn’t fit then they would assume that I was not targeting them.

Even so, sorry if I offended. It was certainly not meant as an attack on any but the guilty ones who did the despicable deed.

  11. I was just speechless when I read Betty Jean’s post, so I apologize for not going into detail at the time. I know all the regular readers and posters here are in 100% support of her, but she is completely right – we must pass an anti-hate crime law for misogyny.

How incredibly pathetic is that? That this once great nation must pass separate legislation for each group, and that we cannot all count on law enforcement and the courts to protect our lives and families. It basically says that everyone that is not a heterosexual white male is a lower category of human being. That is the current law of this land, and of course it will only get worse under an Obama administration. Soon it will be only heterosexual males that are part of the World Government that are considered human. The rest of us will all be subject to their whim. For those of you that might think I am being alarmist, go to the link I posted above and see what happens to women in this country, even after they have already been attacked. Ask Judy Shepherd about what happened to her son Matthew just for being gay. Sadly, the examples are virtually unlimited, and the prevention is virtually non-existent. Now ask yourself what will happen once the Citizen of the World and the puppet masters that control him have the keys to the kingdom…

I cannot even imagine, but for those with eyes to see there is a historical reference here. Look at Germany in the 1930’s. Study it, and you will see the shocking similarities. And if left unchecked, America will be where Germany was in the 1940’s, or likely worse.

The time to take action is yesterday. Let’s not wait until tomorrow.

  12. “Oh, but Aiko does get credit for being able to read a map, although we’re not quite how she’ll do in bed…”

Well, at least when she tells him to “go to h+ll”, she can give him directions.

  13. this is sickening. this man should be put to death.

  14. Nancy–I agree it IS sickening, but I don’t know about putting him to death!!

I just wish he would stick with a helper for the elderly, one of NEITHER SEX!!

  15. GRL,

I think Nancy may have been referring to the SOB that tried to murder Betty Jean’s daughters. If so, I would agree; the only way to stop this savagery is to put a real punishment in place.

If she’s talking about Mr. Le, I think he may have already condemned himself to his own special hell on Earth. What woman (or man) would want to be around someone so socially deranged?

  16. OH, you’re probably right, Grail…Nancy meant the sicko in NJ.

However, it’s often reported that being incarcerated in a max security prison is more hellish than dying…I think that’s the way to go for these people…I’m generally not into the death penalty for that reason, but I may change my viewpoint on this as things slide further downhill….

As for Mr. Le…he’ll probably makes lots of money of this invention…if so, I hope he loses it or is like those big lottery winners, who suddenly get a lot of bad luck. The lottery winners don’t deserve that sort of luck, but Le sure will!

  17. kenoshamarge,

Thanks for the response. When it comes to the “prominent feminist” bashers, I think many of us are supersensitive, maybe even a little embarrassed or even a little guilty to have ever thought of ourselves as one of “them.” What were they thinking? What were we missing about them all these years? It’s difficult to believe that such a hateful level of misogyny just suddenly erupted in them – in 2008 – out of nowhere.

As for me, I’ll not be satisfied until I hear some kind of explanations from these women. They are very quiet right now.

  18. HT, Thanks for de-lurking!!

  19. LindaA1 —

Yes indeed what were the “feminists” thinking when they endorsed the misogynist Obama — he was so open with his disrespect for women — and his disrespect is more than sexism — he has a pathological hatred for white women. Especially older women.

Yet the “prominent” feminist — like Gloria Steinem came out for Obama. But you know Steinem is a phony — she has been disrespectful of women like flight attendants. This according to the flight attendants who recognized her — and they said she was down right rude to them.

To me it was significant that Sarah Palin identified herself as a feminist — that was so important because at long last the right gets the importance of equal rights and equal respect for women.

And then to watch the icons of the 60s &70s feminist movement start acting like rabid animals — Palin can’t be a feminist because only those women make that decision.

That’s when many of us decided that something was really wrong — WHY indeed did these women come out so strongly for a sexist pig? He has done nothing for women — and he has HURT and set back women’s efforts toward equal human rights with men in America. THIS will not happen — probably not in most of our life times.

Yet all I’ve read to date from the passe feminists is how it would be nice if, pretty please, Obama appointed more women to his cabinet. I was predicting that he might appoint 3 — so I was off by one.

Come to think of it — what has NOW and the other organizations really done FOR women?

It is really pathetic when we look at the crime statistics — violence against women — not much has changed. The notice posted above of the attempted murder — of BJ’s daughters — really really brings home how we have NOT come a long way at all.

If this nation and the world do slide into a depression (very likely with Obama as Prez) — I expect that the violence against women will increase and women will find it much harder than males to find employment — forget about employment in line with a women’s qualifications. With Obama’s ascendancy and adoration by 0bots — I expect that white women will victims of more hate crimes. When the economy fails women suffer.

  20. LindaA1,

I didn’t think about that super-sensitivity when I was writing. I was just mad. And I understand the “embarrassed” part too since I was and am “embarrassed” to think that I once had respect and even admiration for some of those “prominent feminists”.

Now all I want to know is what have they done for the cause? Other than to bash the hell out of other women and help elect misogynists like Obama. Get’s my dander up in a way the ol dander hasn’t risen in years. 😉

  21. LindaA1,

What were they thinking? What were we missing about them all these years? It’s difficult to believe that such a hateful level of misogyny just suddenly erupted in them – in 2008 – out of nowhere.

That’s the problem with the whole the enemy of my enemy is my friend concept. When the only common bond is to fight another group, the results always turn out badly (think Afghanistan and backing Osama bin Laden against the USSR). That’s why I feel so much more connected to the PUMA movement – we’re fighting for something; namely our country, the US Constitution, and the American way of life!

  22. Good double post, KM and IA, followed by interesting comments, too.

About Aiko, I have my doubts that Le started out creating her as an aide to the elderly because, unlike men slimy enough to purchase an emotionless robot companion, the elderly require the emotional benefits of home health care workers as much as they need the physical and medical care. The more home-bound and isolated the patient-client, the more they need to know that their caregiver cares about them and their well-being. Better to have a caregiver who’s glad to see you’re okay when she comes by for a few hours each day than a robot who’s there 24/7 but won’t give a damn when you’re gone. So, I don’t think there’s a market for robot caregivers for the elderly and I don’t believe Le ever thought there might be. He just doesn’t want to admit that he created Aiko because he’s nature’s woman repellent.

About Obama being named Person of the Year, that was a gimme. In fact, it’s almost cliche. Of course he’s Person of the Year. Next month, he’ll be Redbook’s Mother of the Year. And we can all eat our Christmas dinner from our Obama commemorative plates before we exchange Obama commemorative coins in front of the tree. I believe “overexposure” describes Obama well now. Even if I supported Obama, I’d be burnt out on celebrating already. Since I don’t support him and really, really dislike him, I’m just plain sick of his face.

That’s the problem with the whole the enemy of my enemy is my friend concept. GG, I feel the same way, too. PUMA’s the only good thing to come from 2008’s campaign and election.

  23. Your take on Le is probably right!! Yeah, there’s no “human touch” from Aiko, unless you consider the pending orgasm!!~

As for PUMA….don’t know how many of us are left, but our little circle of bloggers is a nice support network and, hopefully, will be the phalanx for a rising level of knowledge and discontent over Obama and his fixers…

  24. As for PUMA….don’t know how many of us are left, but our little circle of bloggers is a nice support network and, hopefully, will be the phalanx for a rising level of knowledge and discontent over Obama and his fixers…

If nothing else, we’ll have one another to vent and grumble with when Obama makes the covers of People Magazines 50 Most Beautiful People and Sexiest Man Alive issues. Oh, yeah, it’ll happen. Obama the product is a money maker.

  25. Cool Aunt,

He just doesn’t want to admit that he created Aiko because he’s nature’s woman repellent.

    ROFLMAO! You are so right!

Have no fear! We’re all still here (PUMAs) – seeking the truth, Alert and Aware! Big cats are patient hunters, and usually get their biggest prey when the herd thinks they went away and things are safe…
