Post Election Thoughts…The Last Salvo or REALITY BITES

There will never be a female President of the United States. There. I said it. Ladies, go home and grab your burkas and start cooking dinner for your man and popping out babies. You will never have equal pay for equal work, you will never be considered competent or capable at anything you ever do, and you stand no chance of ever getting anywhere unless it’s to a soccer or hockey game to cheer your (male) children on. Of course the laws will be wide open to allow you to abort female children so you don’t have to sully the landscape with them at all anymore.

How do I know? Because before even half the nation’s votes were tallied tonight, not only were all the major networks calling the race for Barack Obama, but the pundits are already discussing how Sarah Palin was John McCain’s downfall. Pundits attempting to defend her popularity with statistics were shot down on Fox News. That’s it – it’s over. You will not see another female Presidential candidate taken seriously in this country in our lifetimes. We’ll be lucky if we continue to see women continue to hold seats in the Senate and House after tonight. Female Governors? Forget about it. Palin won’t be re-elected there, because in spite of the fact that Alaska loved her (90% approval rating) just 4 months ago, she has been trashed and is now persona non grata in her own state courtesy of the Chosen One.

Hillary Clinton will lose her Senate seat in 2012. Barack Obama had determined that before she surrendered her fight for the Democratic nomination, and all the pundits are hammering how he “beat the Clinton machine”. She is toast. But frankly, that’s OK with me tonight. As far as I am concerned, Hillary is one of the top reasons that Barack Obama was able to destroy the United States Constitution and insinuate himself into the Presidency. She has lost my respect and she has lost my vote. She bears a huge responsibility for Obama’s victory. She gave up on America to save her career. She sold out her constituents and supporters for the proverbial 30 pieces of silver, and she will have to live with that for the rest of her life.

So here are my top reasons for the desecration and destruction of the Constitution of the United States of America:

Karl Rove: The Republican strategist was neck deep in foisting Obama on an unaware America. After his manipulations to get and keep George W. Bush in the White House, he pulled off the ultimate hoodwink by clandestinely switching sides and getting the most unelectable man in politics elected on literally no platform. His uncontrollable glee while watching the returns confirmed for me that he had more than just a casual involvement in the victory. I’m sure he is now convinced that he is the most powerful man in the world.

Hillary Clinton: She spent the primary convincing us how unqualified Obama was to be POTUS and how she would never quit fighting for the American people. After all is said and done, I believe history will prove her correct on the former point. After “suspending” her campaign and humiliating herself and her 18 million supporters at the Democratic convention, she fulfilled her promise to “work my heart out” and campaigned at full tilt for Obama till the very end and convinced a painful number of her supporters that Obama was a suitable replacement for her. Rather than stand on principle and speak out against Obama’s Constitutional ineligibility to serve as POTUS, she knowingly and willingly aided and abetted the criminal activities of Obama and the DNC.

Main Stream Media: Of course one of the biggest reasons for the destruction of the United States of America and life as we know it is the Main Stream Obamedia. I cannot adequately convey my disgust with them, but let’s face it; they created a President. We have allowed them to decide a Presidential election for the third time in a row, and there is no stopping them now. Plan on spending the rest of your lives (and money) on whatever crap they decide to sell you, whether it be political candidates, lousy programming, toothpaste, or male enhancement products. They bought the soul of America with infomercials and “reality” shows that don’t vaguely resemble reality. It was the Bargain of the Century.

Fox News: “Fair and Balanced” reporting was next to impossible to find this election season as MSNBC, CNN, NBC, CBS, and ABC immediately suited up for Team Obama during the primaries. Before the GE race started in earnest, Fox appeared to be the only source of coverage that wasn’t totally biased in favor of Obama. It turned out that was a sham. The first to start fawning over Obama was the shameless Bill O’Reilly. His disgust with John McCain overruled his whatever journalistic instincts he had, and he threw the race in order to feebly protest the people having chosen McCain as the Republican nominee. The rest of the network quickly followed suit with only a few exceptions (Megan Kelly stands out), and by election night they were quicker to call the race for Obama than nearly anyone and spent all their post-coital analysis slamming McCain for having has the cajones to even consider running in the first place, nonetheless with a woman on the ticket. In the end, it’s tough to decide if they were influenced by owner Rupert Murdoch’s endorsement of Obama or were just trying desperately to keep a luke-warm candidate from embarrassing the party. Either way, they garnered millions of cable viewers based on their supposed impartiality, then proceeded to join in the mass brainwashing, with unparalleled gusto by the last week of the campaign.

The Republican Party: In a year when the Republicans had virtually no chance in hell of taking the White House, true conservatives “allowed” the public to nominate John McCain in what they though was a throwaway election. Imagine their surprise when McCain actually started to show some signs of life (and without them)! After the base was reinvigorated by the brilliant announcement of Sarah Palin as McCain’s Vice Presidential nominee, the party had 2 choices: support the centrist McCain and try with gusto to steal the White House from the Democrats in a year that it was all but guaranteed to be theirs, or sit back and do nothing in quiet protest of the likelihood of a McCain victory. The party decided as an entity to do the latter, and the sheeple of the right within the party followed suit, complaining that he wasn’t really their man and they’d rather give the White House to the Dems than suffer losing their control of the party from the radical right. The party that a few short weeks before had looked like heroes for putting a woman on the ticket after the brutal ravaging of Hillary Clinton wound up looking like misogynists; campaign leaks called Palin a “rogue” and “out of control” in efforts to prevent her from seeking further national office in the future. In the end, it was not the leadership of the party or McCain, but the spineless conservative members who tanked an election and gave up control of Congress rather than let a woman near the White House.

The Democratic Party: Howard Dean, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Donna Brazile, Jimmy Carter, Zbigniew Brezinski and other Democratic leaders colluded, long before the start of the 2008 Presidential campaign, to use radical tactics to steer the party to the far left and overthrow the legitimate government of the United States. They selected a young, unknown freshman Senator from Illinois with literally no history and molded him into their dream candidate. Their plan to use race as a means to energize the African American voter base and intimidate whites into voting out of guilt and fear dripped of cynicism and hatred for America. The one obstacle that stood in their way was popular front-runner Hillary Clinton. With unprecedented viciousness, the DNC and Obama campaign launched an all out misogynistic attack on Clinton, accompanied by charges of racism against her, husband Bill Clinton, and literally all of her 18 million supporters. Suddenly empowered by the report-nothing media, they started to publicly break their own rules, change rules midstream, change and assign votes cast to their chosen candidate, and lie about virtually everything. Once their ravaging of Clinton brought her to her knees, they thought they were golden, until John McCain chose Sarah Palin as his running mate. Unequipped to handle the public’s adoration of the Alaska Governor, they trashed Palin with lies, innuendo, and false charges which were all lustily covered by the media. Their destruction of everything female in this country now stands complete, and sadly I know many women that voted Democratic yesterday, probably a straight party ticket. When all is said and done, it will be shown that the Democratic brand is nothing more than the flip side of the people that brought us the corrupt Republican brand of George W. Bush.

The Socialists: I won’t spend time right now going into repeated detail about the likes of William Ayers, Bernadette Dohrn, Khalid al Mansour, et al. Let it be enough to say that an organized Socialist movement that started smoldering in the 1960s burst into full flames this year and will soon sweep this nation like wildfire. Their efforts were deliberate, domestic terrorism and I’m quite sure that Timothy McVeigh is smiling like mad from his platform in hell.

Mob Rule: You can include the illegal activities of ACORN in this category or the one above – take your pick. Angry blacks, agitated to the brink of race war by the Obama machine, and young white college types determined to put a black man (any black man – with man being the operative word) in the highest office in the land to assuage their white guilt, threatened to riot, bullied opponents mercilessly online, and even intimidated other voters while standing in line to vote by discussing the riots that would ensue if Obama lost. Never underestimate the bullying of thugs both physical and psychological. I also include trolls in this category, because without their relentless assault on literally every website that ever posted even 1 word in opposition to Obama, this victorious annihilation of all common sense and decency would not have been possible. Pat yourselves on the backs, Psy Ops Warriors! Job well done. There will be posts for all of you in the new Civilian Police Force, dragging PUMAs off to re-education camps, so the fun isn’t nearly over yet.

“4th Wave” Feminists: Never underestimate the power of women defiling other women in this coup d’etat. Names like Nancy Pelosi, Donna Brazile, Claire McCaskill, Arianna Huffington, Erica Jong, Alice Germond, Peggy Noonan, Maureen Dowd, Oprah Winfrey, and literally every woman in Hollywood leap to mind in this category at first blush, but let’s not take the credit away from the invisible everyday “feminist”. I’m talking the ones that cried “It’s not that I don’t want a woman President, I do. Just not that woman!” and “I just can’t believe they picked Sarah Palin. That woman isn’t qualified to be President!” They did more to demoralize and frustrate the efforts of every woman in this nation than we have seen in decades. As I stated at the outset, these women (the type who live merely to find men and have no sense of self outside their relationships) have ensured that I shall not live to see a female President of the United States of America. Perhaps it makes them feel more powerful in their own meaningless lives, but they are traitors to us, to themselves, and to this Republic. They have played a vital role in pushing back the clock to roughly the 1920s as far as Women’s Rights are concerned. And I will not be able to laugh or say I told you so when they realize the aftereffects of what they have done.

The American People: Ultimately, the blame must lie with those who did nothing or not enough to stop this decline during this and the previous 5 administrations. I count myself in the latter category. I apparently awoke too late to stop the juggernaut of the New World Order. I fought like mad at the end (during the last year), but like most of America I was asleep at the wheel when people like both George Bush 41 & 43, Reagan, Carter, and even Bill Clinton steered this nation towards the slippery slope that it is on today. I watched and either complained or ignored as our liberties were slowly eroded. I bristled at the overt actions, but was easily assuaged back to my complacency when adjustments were made to allow my comfort level to return. I sold my country out for the ability to buy PCs, cell phones, SUVs, bigger houses, designer clothing, “organic” foods, and other such frivolities. I got angry and excited at an unseen enemy when my handlers in the media told me it was time to do so. I ranted about Global Warming and going Green, signed up for an HMO that had nothing whatsoever to do with Health Maintenance or even getting better when I was sick or injured, and dug deep into my pockets to help others less fortunate than I around the world when disasters struck and even remained silent when I had to do it for my own countrymen in the Hurricane ravaged south after Katrina and other storms showed that our government was unwilling and incapable of helping our own in time of need, regardless of how many tax dollars they had paid into the system. I kept silent. I averted my eyes. I deafened myself to the sure sounds of corruption and moral decay. And I turned off my feelings for my fellow Americans long enough for them to become so very angry that they would lash out at me in fury to destroy America as payment for my complacency. And for that, I am truly sorry America. I have failed you.

OK, I have to say this: the video of the McCain rally yesterday afternoon is incredibly BAD! I can’t believe how bad the quality is! I’ve never seen anything done so poorly for any other candidate who has visited the Las Cruces area!  Last week, they printed the wrong address of the McCain headquarters (gave Obama’s twice), now this!  The video is heavily edited and lasts only about 3 minutes. Now, maybe they’ve “improved” it, but as of the time when I put this post together, it was just terrible!

I didn’t go to the rally because I had a gardening workshop I had signed up for…but, since it was only about two blocks from the Plaza, I managed to get a few pics as I left.  The police had blocked off all approaches except for one a few blocks up the Avenida de Mesilla and since it was a ticketed event and I didn’t have a ticket, I didn’t bother walking up that far.

However, I ran into a “Democrat for McCain,” a lovely woman who told me she was “scared to death” of Obama. I chatted with couple of the policemen manning the barricades… one of the told me outright that he thought Obama was a liar.

Here are a couple of the pics I got.  The huge flag was hanging on the side of the plaza and it appears from the video that the stage was in front of the flag.

Usually, rallies are held with the San Albino’s church as the backdrop (you can see the top of the steeple to the right in the middle picture), but yesterday things were shifted so the background was 90 degrees to the “left” along the far side of the plaza. There was a backdrop reading “Country First” immediately in back of the speakers, and the flag was suspended behind that.  Departing Sen. Domenici introduced McCain.  McCain had a good line at the start of the video…that “Obama is more interested in controlling wealth than creating it.”

Let’s see if the Sun-News deigns to put the entire McCain speech up like they did for Obama on Memorial Day.  Or, let’s see if they have interviews with attendees in a later article.  I don’t expect much, because this rag endorsed Obama last week…full of hesitations, but they endorsed him nonetheless. SHAME ON THE LAS CRUCES SUN-NEWS!!! And, I’ll have to see if Hillary Clinton’s rally for Obama further down south gets a lot more coverage and if Obama’s night rally in Albuquerque gets big play as late as Monday. UPDATE on the coverage (Sunday AM):

At the website, the same crummy, short video but with an expanded story with some more meaty quotes from McCain.

In the print editon of the Sun-News–”BATTLEGROUND” screaming along the top of the page, with a big sticker for the Renaissance ArtsFaire plunked over part of the picture of McCain and most of the caption! Below the stories on McCain, the story “Clinton Stumps for Obama in Sunland Park.”  Continuing on page 9, on the left the stories on McCain, on the right at the top, Clinton’s name highlighted with a big picture of her and a shot of women supporters. On page 6 a story titled “Southern NM in the Spotlight as Race Tightens” with a pic of McCain and one of Obama and Bill Richardson (can’t let a day go by without Obama in the picture!).  Next to it on Page 7 a story titled “Average Joes Have Mixed Feelings on Wealth” by the AP with charts and a title “Most Americans under 15% tax rate.”

In the story on Clinton–(which reported a crowd of about 2,600–there was NO estimate for the McCain crowd, although 2,500 tickets were supposedly available and the story referred to “thousands” in a caption of a small picture)–she is quoted as saying: “I want you to support Barack Obama as hard as you supported me.” Later in the story she pushed for a “filibuster-proof majority” but the report also had these interesting comments:

Clinton in Sunland Park on Saturday nonetheless cautioned the faithful to avoid complacency, fearing that leads Obama and the congressional hopefuls have built could slip away in the final days of the campaign.

“Ten days is a long time in a presidential election. All sorts of things can happen,” she said.

“Clinton described herself as optimistic about Democratic wins on Nov. 4, but not yet confident that all will go as planned.”

Last week I griped about Early Voting (see the 3rd story in the “Posts” section) and on Wednesday I actually heard a news story on the radio about how Obama was leading in the early voting by a large margin…30%, 27% were the numbers bandied about depending on the “poll.”  Of course, there was no real poll and this story that was up at The Hill discusses how the numbers are put together.

So now the media works its magic buy discussing “pre-counts” as if they ARE the election results? Is this the voting equivalent of “pre-owned” that really means “used” when it applies to cars?  Remember we weren’t supposed to get a call on an election on the TV before California had voted? Remember how we were all aghast that Bush’s cousin at FOX News declared Bush the winner of FL and the entire meme changed in 2000? Why is this “reporting” on Early Voting now ACCEPTABLE?  In the distant past, we at least we had SOME respect for the idea of not doing things that influenced an election–like creating a “report” on Early Voting obviously meant to push the idea that one candidate is “inevitable.”

Military votes tossed out in Virginia

Oh…they were tossed on a “technicality”–the voters did NOTHING WRONG!

Fairfax general registrar Rokey Suleman said Thursday that he has had to reject some of the ballots because of a Virginia law passed in 2002. That law — then called Senate Bill 113, sponsored by then state Sen. Bill Bolling — requires that when an overseas citizen wants to request an absentee ballot and cast a vote with the same paperwork, it requires not only a witness signature but also the current address of the witness.

Apparently, the ballots themselves were not changed for the new requirements

The McCain campaign said there’s not even a space for the witness to list an address. Suleman agreed; he said the federal document was changed in recent years and the space for the witness address was removed. But the Virginia law hasn’t changed.

A Democrat is the “registrar of voters” in VA…he thinks this whole thing “stinks”…but the law is the law?

And whither WesClark, who practically lived in Virginia campaigning for Kaine…and has a residence in Alexandria, I believe.   Not a peep from him on this?

And the big question is–When do we get a uniform voting law in this country? Meanwhile,  John Conyers cancelled a September session of the committee that has been working on “preparing” for the 2008 election…I’d say there’s been a lot of heel-dragging on assuring a fair vote this election, from BOTH sides.

Out of the blue (no pun intended) I got a missive from Bill Clinton this week on behalf of HillPac. It was about raising money for a few downticket candidates, including Al Franken, and efforts to win a veto-proof Congress.

I don’t have to tell you how important this election is to our country. But I do want to tell you one thing that will make a tremendous difference for Barack Obama and Joe Biden as we go forward: A filibuster-proof Democratic Senate majority working by their side.

I know that these three races are critically important to her — and they should be to you, too.

I don’t think it will surprise you that Hillary and I talk about the Senate races all the time. After all, she’ll be working every day with the winners next year.

Well, Bill, the last thing I want is a Democratic Congress and Barack Obama in the Oval Office. I never thought I’d say something like that, but that’s the way it is this year.  And Bill…tell Hillary to get off the Obama bandwagon, especially the one here in my backyard at the same time McCain is campaigning.  Let Obama show up in person here with us little folks down here in southern NM!

You can say the next item is about something you’ve seen before. In fact, you have, since all of here at IA have written about this is some shape or form over the past weeks. But, this particular piece posted at Savage Politics takes a different approach as it reflects on all the reasons why we feel so bad about what’s going on in this country. Here’s an excerpt:

Over the past several days, while I have been purposefully alone with my thoughts, I have felt a heaviness of heart and have been filled with an overwhelming sense of nothing but pure, unadulterated shock and dismay at what I have been seeing in our country. In those quiet moments, away from the television and internet, I’ve been overcome, at times, with a deep sense of pain and hurt that’s almost indescribable. The closest I can come to explaining what I feel is Grief. I am grieving for our country.

I am grieved when the national media is concerned about Sarah Palin dropping her g’s when she talks, is completely unmoved by the fact that the man who would lead our country hasn’t been made to tell the American people why he chose to be friends with, write blurbs for, attend panels with, sit in a church pew, for 20 long years listening to, took money from, represented in court, and paid campaign cash to all kinds of people who have either hated America all of their known lives or have actually bombed its symbols. That grieves me….MORE

On happier note, in the garden this week:  The mustard is now about 3 inches high and the arugula,  pak choi, and swiss chard seeds have sprouted! I picked the last tomato from the pot on the patio and I put up tomato preserves, which are yummy!  And I’m going to do another batch in a couple of day since I still have tons of green (and ripe) tomatoes hanging around on the counter.

The Democratic Party/Latrine Needs the Ty-D-Bol Man

While cleaning the toilet the other day, the Democratic Party came to mind…I’m not kidding!

Now, you have to understand, I REALLY keep my toilet clean.  I use the big blue tablet in the tank, dump toilet cleaner into the bowl and disinfect, and because we have really hard water and get a calcium ring, I even have a pumice stone devoted specifically to scrubbing out the scale.

On the day in question, I knelt down to pick up something on the floor and lo and behold!  I saw stuff I hadn’t noticed before, stuff I thought I was getting cleaned when I scrubbed the bowl.  But NO!  I had missed the buildup around the thin line of little round holes at the very top of the bowl, hidden under the rim…. I HAD MISSED THE HIDDEN CRUD!

Shock! Horror!  I quickly fiddled around with the brush and finally got the right angle to get up in this nether region and got it really clean!  From now on, I will be on the alert to this “hidden danger.”

And how does this tale relate to the Democratic Party?  Well, the entire episode suddenly reminded me of how we’ve been waking up to what’s under the facade that is the Democratic Party, how we’re seeing “under the rim.”  Taking impeachment off the table, the failure to take on the Medicare Part D prescription gift to Big Pharma, the primary caucus system, the intimidation, the misogyny, Florida, Michigan, the secret fix that was engineered and the disgraceful actions of the Rules and Bylaws Committee, the unqualified candidate who getst away with playing the race card to the point of turning Bill Clinton into a “racist,” the hatred of BOTH Clintons, the money thrown without oversight to “community groups,” the ties to ACORN and the mortgage mess, the current corruption of the voting process by the same group and Obama’s ties to the group, the whole idea of being OK with the likes of William Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, and Tony Rezko,..

Then there’s the intimidation and final sellout of the likes of Rep. John Lewis.  Still have faith in John Conyers, the guy who was was supposed to working on impeaching Bush?  I sure don’t, when I consider how he CANCELLED a scheduled meeting of the Judiciary Committee in early September that was supposed to be about voting preparations for this November’s election.  But now, do you blame me for wondering if the REAL preparations involve the actions of ACORN?

Hey, let’s remember that Nancy Pelosi pushed Obama instead of staying neutral and also let the chance of getting Karl Rove to answer a subpeona to testify about the “attorney-firing scandal.”  Yeah, Pelosi shrugged off the pleadings of Fmr. Alabama governor Don Siegelman during the Democratic Convention to allow a full House vote so Rove would be forced to testify. And this is the Democratic Party that we’re supposed to keep following blindly? I don’t think so…like the scum hiding in my supposedly clean toilet, the crud of the Democratic Party has been exposed and I’ve decided to flush the Democratic leadership down the toilet, where they all belong.

Frankly, we are now left with a situation that calls for the Ty-D-Bowl man.  Remember him? He’s still keeping America’s toilets clean, so why not sic him on the Democratic Party???

Let me tell you about the character of the TY-D-Bol man…HE WAS COURAGEOUS! From Yahoo Answers:

The Ty-D-Bowl Company had a very strange nautical spokesperson to advertise the merits of their toilet bowl cleaning product. Precariously balanced in a small boat floating inside a toilet water basin, the Ty-D-Bowl man (wearing a Captain’s hat, blazer and turtleneck) greeted a TV housewife when she lifted the basin lid and proceeded to sell her and the viewing audience on the advantages of his product. This has got to be the worst location any commercial spokesman ever had to live.

But, you might not know that the Ty-D-Bol man was also a very CONCERNED CITIZEN and involved in politics!  Read on…

Recently, we’ve had a Rasmussen poll which found that 59% of Americans would like to throw out the entire Congress.

Congress was front and center in the national news last week and the American people were far from impressed. If they could vote to keep or replace the entire Congress, 59% of voters would like to throw them all out and start over again. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that just 17% would vote to keep the current legislators in office.

Well, let me clue you in on something. The Ty-D-Bol man was onto this idea a long time ago!!!  Back in 1992, THE MAN did this:

The 1992 “Ty-D-Bol Spring Cleaning Report” asked 1,006 American adults what they would choose if they “had the power to throw out what exists and start all over again.” The winner, picked by 49 percent, was the U.S. Congress.

I don’t know who conducted the actual polling, but it seems that Congress was on the brink even then.  But we’re up 10% on that number now, so I think it’s definitely time to unleash the power of Ty-D-Bol NOW on the every Democrat and Republican sitting in Washington, D.C.  But this year, I think it’s the Democrats who need a double-dose of the “blue stuff”…and I’m not talking about going “blue” due to massive voter fraud.

If you’re out there…WE NEED YOU, TY-D-BOL MAN!

Ty-D-Bowl Man – The Ty-D-Bowl Company had a very strange nautical spokesperson to advertise the merits of their toilet bowl cleaning product. Precariously balanced in a small boat floating inside a toilet water basin, the Ty-D-Bowl man (wearing a Captain’s hat, blazer and turtleneck) greeted a TV housewife when she lifted the basin lid and proceeded to sell her and the viewing audience on the advantages of his product. This has got to be the worst location any commercial spokesman ever had to live. Comedian George Carlin once commented on one of his comedy albums “They’re approving some pretty weird things, man. Like the guy in the toilet is pretty strange. Originally, it’s a row boat. Then he got a speedboat. Then he was on a raft with two calypso guy musicians and two bushels of lemons [singing] “We put the lemon in the Ty-D-Bol for you.” Actors who portrayed the role of the Ty-D-Bol Man included Fred Miltonberg, Larry Sprinkle and Mark Matheisen. TRIVIA NOTE: In 1958 Harry O’Hare Sr. developed Ty-D-Bol, a liquid cleanser/disinfectant for the toilet bowl that is still sold today by Sara Lee Corporation. He also helped pioneer the use of chlorinators to clean swimming pools. O’Hare sold Ty-D-Bol Chemical in 1960 for less than $100,000. In 1988 at the age of 67 O’Hare developed a new product called the Watergizer, an electro-chemical process that cleans and softens a household’s water supply far better than other systems on the market. It was developed by HOH Water Technology Corp, a Newbury Park firm organized by O’Hare in 1979. In 1991 color consultant James Mandle changed the color of Ty-D-Bol’s toilet bowl cleanser bottle from light blue and green to stark white letters on a dark background. In an 18 month period following the change of color, sales of Ty-D-Bol jumped 40%. Audacity of Deception and Hypocrisy has come up with another piece of evidence, this time linking ILLINOIS SENATE CANDIDATE Obama with ACORN…It’s a picture, and we all know that pictures are worth everything, especially when it comes to outing Obama and his connections…the caption on the picture is “ACORN members meet with Illinois Senate Candidate Barack Obama. Photo as printed in 2004  ‘Social Policy’ article.“

It’s not as recent as we could wish for, but it does date from the time Obama was starting his career in politics…See Chicago Reader post below.

I get nervous watching debates, so instead I roamed around some of the debate threads and somehow wound up at the Audacity of Hypocrisy site, which is now “offically” called Audacity of Deception and Hypocrisy…

Ayers had to know Obama at a very close level to mention him in his book along with Muhammad Ali and Louis Farrakhan. The book came out in 1998. It takes about 2-3 years to write and publish a book, so this friendship can be placed going back to at least 1995. The evidence comes straight from William Ayers. Read the page at Google Book.

Ayers’ book was published by the Beacon Press, which “is a department of the Unitarian Universalist Association” which is based in Boston.  According to the mission statement,

Beacon Press is an independent publisher of serious non-fiction and fiction. Our books often change the way readers think about fundamental issues; they promote such values as freedom of speech and thought; diversity, religious pluralism, and anti-racism; and respect for diversity in all areas of life.

I don’t know exactly how long it takes to publish a “serious” book, but judging from several scholarly acquaintances who have published, the 2-3 year time frame that the folks at the Audacity site have proposed seems entirely reasonable to me.

Back in February of this year, Politico was among the first to delve into William Ayers history. The opening paragraphs of the story, titled “Obama Once Visited ’60′s Radicals” read:

In 1995, State Senator Alice Palmer introduced her chosen successor, Barack Obama, to a few of the district’s influential liberals at the home of two well known figures on the local left: William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn.

While Ayers and Dohrn may be thought of in Hyde Park as local activists, they’re better known nationally as two of the most notorious — and unrepentant — figures from the violent fringe of the 1960s anti-war movement.

Now, as Obama runs for president, what two guests recall as an unremarkable gathering on the road to a minor elected office stands as a symbol of how swiftly he has risen from a man in the Hyde Park left to one closing in fast on the Democratic nomination for president.

“I can remember being one of a small group of people who came to Bill Ayers’ house to learn that Alice Palmer was stepping down from the senate and running for Congress,” said Dr. Quentin Young, a prominent Chicago physician and advocate for single-payer health care, of the informal gathering at the home of Ayers and his wife, Dohrn. “[Palmer] identified [Obama] as her successor.”

Obama and Palmer “were both there,” he said.

The publication date of the book–1998–with a mention of Obama seems to reinforce the early date of their first meeting, reported as 1995.
